We were invited to a private Due West concert in Park City, Utah this week! WOW what an amazing show we had!! It was held in their friends fathers home! It was an huge multi-million dollar house~~~Talk about sweet!!! Food was provided and it was followed by an amazing performance from our friends Brad, Matt and Tim!! Awesome Job Guys!!! Due West Weekend!

This past weekend we had a fundraiser benefit concert for some friends of ours. We invited the group Due West to perform here in Montpelier. They are a new band that is on the brink of exploding into the country music scene! They are Tim Gates, Brad Hull and Matt Lopez! They arrived Thursday and left Saturday night. We are they're newest and biggest fans! To find out more about them visit www.duewest.com! We had an absolute blast having them in Montpelier. They performed Thursday at the Oregon Trail Center to a sell out crowd and then we had the privilege of a "Live and Unplugged" performance in our living room!!! I have never heard anything like we heard that night in my living room. There were memories created that night that I will never ever forget! I can't wait until they make the big time so that the whole world can hear what we did that night. Hopefully we made them feel welcome enough to come again! We have them scheduled to come in the summer with their entire band. We can't wait!!!

Back To School!!

Elsie started her 1st year of preschool this year. I can't believe I have 3 kids in school!!! It makes me feel so old! Elsie is excited to learn her ABC's & 123's and to learn how to read! Her teachers are Miss Joey and Miss Laurie.

Lydia started Kindergarten this year. Her teacher is Mrs. Cammack. She's been sooooo ready for this, since her birthday is September she missed the deadline last year. She's excited to get AR points and learn math.

Peytons 1st day of 3rd Grade. His teacher is Mrs. Massey who was my 3rd grade teacher. He's really excited to learn his times tables and learn to write in cursive this year.

Diamond Rio Concert

Thanks to Dorian & Angie for getting us VIP tickets, backstage passes. We were on the front row and got to meet the band before the show. It was one of the neatest experiences we've had going to concerts. The Grunigs were in the same ward as Dan Truman (keyboards) when they lived in Tennesee. We owe you guys big time. I even caught a guitar pick! (Well actually I bent over and picked it off the ground because no one else was paying attention, but who cares I got it!!!!)

Claudia Is Almost 6 Months Old!

This is my first video and my memory card was full so it's not very long, but at least I figured it out! Claudia is growing up. I can't believe how fast time is flying. It seems like yesterday that Peyton was born and we were experiencing these things for the 1st time. Now this is my 4th TIME!!! They are growing up too fast. I love them more than anything else. They make my life seem like it's spinning out of control, but I can't imagine life without them.

It's Been Forever!

Okay, so obviously my life has left me no time to blog lately. We have all been so ridiculously (is that spelled right?) busy. I've been working part time at our store with all 4 kids. The slow economy has hurt us a little bit so we are having to cut costs. I'm sure that's just like everyone else out there. I'm sure we'll be alright, it's just going to be a little bit crazy for a while. I just put my husband to bed. He's been awake for 39 hours straight. He was in charge of the All-Nighter Softball Tourney here in Montpelier this weekend. He stayed awake the entire night!!! When he got home tonight he was wanting to go to the dance for Butch Cassidy Days. His eyes were so BLOODSHOT!! I told him that he looked like Satan. Yikes huh? I should have taken a picture. Needless to say, I won and he went to bed. My back is doing okay. I've been doing a lot of things that I probably shouldn't, but life doesn't slow down it only speeds up. Overall I'm glad I had the surgery. It's helped pain and I only have occasional numbness if I overdo a day. Soon I'll put a slide show together to prove that we really do have a life.

So Grateful!

I am just amazed at all of the blessings that we are receiving during all of this "recovery". Still the greatest thanks goes out to my mother who is pretty much at my house everyday cleaning and helping me with the kids. She hasn't been feeling very good at all. She recently had a tube put in her kidney to open it up. She still needs to finish the proceedure at the end of the month yet, she keeps pushing herself to be able to help me. I am blessed to have her. Also, hats off to my Relief Society Presidency who have arranged meals and cooked meals and helped me clean my house. I don't know what we've done to recieve such help from everyone. We have the greatest friends and ward members that there is. We are so gratefull for everyones prayers and phone calls. Every day I get a little bit stronger and a little bit better. It's slower than I'd like, but it's hard to believe that it's been 2 weeks already. I've got a lot of other things to post, but I don't make it to the computer that often so one of these days I'll post a zillion things. Thank goodness it's summer vacation. It's going to be busy, but it's a change of gears at least.

Doing Great!

I made it down stairs with help from my DH (dear husband). I thought I'd give everyone an update. Everything went well for the surgery. The Dr. said that it was worse than he thought when he got in there because I had a bunch of bone spurs and that were in the way and that I had progressive degenerative disc disease. (I knew that I felt to old to be this young!!ha ha) He said that we'd discuss this more at my 2 week check up. Over all i'm doing great! I made it for a walk around the block this morning and then again this evening plus around the church and back. My leg twitches a bit afterwards, but nothing too big. I'm doing exactly what I'm supposed to do. I appreciate all the help that my mom & Shelly are doing for me. My mom's been coming everyday and Shelly has kept Claudia overnight everynight except for 1 that Shane's mom kept her. The part I hate the most is being away from her so much and depending on my mom so much. Shane's been good to help with the kids and his parents and sister Wendy. Infact Wendy is keeping the older 3 at her house tonight. So we are childless. It's nice, but lonley.
I'm also having to be humble and ask for help from others, which is harder to do than I thought. So if you feel the urge to help give me a ring, I'm sure I can find something for you to do. I didn't realize what an important person I was to MY family. This is a lesson to myself that I really DO have such a strong influence on those around me and they really do depend on me. I can't wait to get back to normal. (Life without painkillers) They sure do effect you. They knock me out pretty bad. Infact I'm having a rough time staying focused on this so I'll quit. Check back in a few days, I'll keep you posted. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers they are helping I promise!!

Wish Me Well!

So I go in for back surgery on Monday. I have to be to the hospital at 6:15 am. I'll stay one night, so I'll be home on Tuesday. I'm a little nervous, but I feel like this is going to be the only way to feel better. I've had a lot of pain the last couple of days, which I think is a confirmation that this has to be done and it has to be done now! I know that we are being watched over from above and that everything will turn out. Bishop King is going to give me a blessing on Sunday. With faith and prayers I know that I can return to good health and recover fully. Please remember Shane in your prayers. He's going to be taking on a lot this summer, with me,the kids,the business, & Parks & Rec.. He's maxed out enough, with out me having this surgery so this could possibly be a breaking point for him. As soon as I'm able I'll post to let everyone know how it went. Wish me luck!
