Summer 2007

I put this slideshow together to remind me that Summer will come and when it does it will be so much fun! I am soooooooo looking forward to playing and having fun all stinkin' summer long!!! I'm gonna play and not worry about the housework. I always put off playing until I get my house cleaned. Guess What? My house is never clean! I was not born to keep a house clean. Some people are blessed with this talent. I was blessed with the ability to not let it bother me too much. (at least, until it starts to get unhealthy)Last year we didn't make it to the lake once! Seriously, not even one time. We worked on our yard all spring and in the summer I was too sick to do anything. It's gonna be different this year! No more regrets!

I Survived !

I can't believe it! I survived church for the first time in over a month. It was a little hairy, but overall went pretty good. It's not easy getting 4 kids ready for church all by myself, but it's a task that I can handle as long as I get a good head start and prepare a little bit the night before. Today Shane came home from his meetings before sacrament meeting to help me load Claudia and lift Elsie in and out of the car. He's still in the bishopric, so the kids on Sunday morning are all up to me.(Still trying to get my back better-my left leg from my calf down is still numb) I can't wait until we get some warm weather so we can walk to church and everywhere else. Does anyone have any suggestions to get my back better? My back actually doesn't hurt, it's just inflamation that's got my nerves all wacked out! I keep getting knots and cramps all down the back of my entire leg. Just standing for a few minutes get's it going. It's pretty frustrating. I've been going to the chiropractor, but still don't have any relief. My dad and Shane gave me a very powerful blessing a few weeks ago that feeling would return, so I know that it's going to happen. I guess I need more patience!

Yes, You Heard Right!

Okay, so if you heard that we changed our baby's name to Claudia, you are right. We've tried for the last month to get used to Camille, but it just didn't seem right. We've both felt it, but didn't say anything to each other until now. We followed the majority instead of what we felt in our hearts. We were worried, because Claudia is such a classic name and not used very often that people wouldn't like it. Even Elsie has been asking about Claudia? (the kids are fine with the change too, they slip a little, but with time it will be forgotten) We've even had people express their opinion that they didn't like it at all or that it reminded them of a very mean school teacher from yesteryear. We got the same comments with Lydia and Elsie too, because they are old fashioned. But their names fit them to a "T" and we wouldn't change them for anything. Camille is a beautiful name, perhaps it's just a little too modern for us. Does anyone remember the movie Party of 5? The youngest girls name was Claudia. She had dark hair and was so dang cute and had a spunky personality. We've loved the name ever since.

Funny Story

I have to share this funny story about Elsie. Shane and I were laying on the floor talking to Elsie. Out of the blue Elsie said. "What's that smell?" (she's the most honest child I have)I asked her if it was daddy's breath? She got a disgusted look on her face then grabbed a blanket and put it over Shane's head. I asked her what she was doing. She told me that she was "covering up the smell." We both started to laugh out loud. Then she said "what are you laughing at?" We told her that she was silly, but didn't get it. She was just trying to fix the problem!

Great In 2008???

Okay, so I just thought that I'd update everyone on our current situation. My back is doing better I guess. I still have numbness in my calf and foot, but it seems to get a little teeny bit better each day. I walk a little funny, but I can walk. Camille is rid of her jaundice and growing fast! She's 8 lbs. 14 oz. already. She's had a cold for 3 of her 4 weeks of life. Finally, her pediatrician put her on an antibiotic today. She's been so stuffy. Poor baby! I hope that we are on the road to recovery. We are starting to get in the swing of things and making it out of the house a little bit. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers, they are much appreciated and are working miracles! Despite the challenges we are very blessed and realize that it could be worse and are only temporary. Feel free to come visit or call.
